pixelapostel goes Down Under
The capital of the Australian State Queensland is Brisbane and has around two million residents. Brisbane is the political, cultural and economical centre of Queensland. The temperature of Australia’s “Miami” during the Summer time amounts over 40 degrees and in the Winter time usually not less than 10 degrees Celsius. Since the last 3 years it became very “trendy” to live and work in Brisbane. More and more enterprises are moving to Queensland’s capital. The city is growing at high speed and faces a shortage of skilled employees. That is the reason why pixelapostel has started a cooperation with Brisbane. Starting from Autumn 2008 the students of pixelapostel will have the possibility to take internships in Australia as well as to officially work there after graduation – with the friendly support of pixelapostel.

Welcome to the EUROPEAN FOOTBALL MASTERS 2007 in Berlin
Dear students,
During the summer of last year the entire football world came together in Germany for a magical few weeks of the best the sport has to offer. The FIFA World Cup of 2006 was a tremendous event, not just from a sporting perspective, but most of all because it brought people together from around the globe in a spirit of friendship.
Our first European Football Masters event has the precisely the same aim. This tournament has been organized by the pixelapostel academy for 40 student teams from all over Europe.
More than 200 students of the departments of sports management and event management will gather for a weekend of activities, sport and fun at the HERTHA BSC grounds and in the pulsating capital of Berlin.
There is, of course, a lot of work to be expected during such a tournament, but also, we anticipate, a lot of enthusiasm and engagement. The fact that this event aims to promote not only fair competition but also contact among the decision-makers of the future - on and off the field - is particularly important for me, and lends it an added weight in the context of the new, expanded Europe.
Thus it is with great pleasure that HERTHA BSC has agreed to be the patron for this tournament, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our magnificent, modern football grounds. For us, the motto from last year's World Cup - “A time to make friends” - remains just as relevant.
In this spirit I would like to wish everyone an exciting and rewarding tournament and an action-packed time in Berlin.
With warm regards,
Ingo Schiller - Manager of HERTHA BSC

1. FC pixelapostel reaches semi-finals at TSF Berlin Masters 06
After the successful beginning of this year founded 1. FC pixelapostel at the "Cup der Privaten” (quarter-finals) the pixel kickers fought themselves this time even into the semi-finals of the TSF Berlin Masters 06. After intensive and hard fights within the group phase our team qualified itself together with the defending champion Berlin All-Stars for the Play-Offs.
The 1. FC pixelapostel received its first cup for reaching the semi-finals, which now decorates the reception of the academy. Winner of the TSF Berlin Masters 06 became San Marino, who – supported by players of the Hertha BSC Berlin amateurs - were clearly the strongest team.
We congratulate our team and say thanks to our pixel fans for the loud and visual support.
Chess games at pixelapostel...
... is immediately a firm component of the study and is for the first time an immediately practically usable connection between modern management and the game of chess.
Founded practice shows the students how strategy and tactics in chess in principle works and how this can help the modern manager to the reinforcement of its intuitive abilities in the daily business. Many diagrams, examples and humorous episodes of and with figure managers of both sides obtain new realizations.
The seminar shows how related both varieties of minds are in their characteristic. An historical outline of chess, of the establishment legend up to the influence of the information technology on the present management of figures, rounds the seminar off.
The coach for the ongoing chess seminars at pixelapostel is Paul Werner Wagner, chairman of the board of the Emanuel Lasker Society.

pixelapostel students presenting campaign for Hertha BSC - Berlin's # 1 football club
The briefing for our students took place at the Hertha BSC headquarter's press room on June 8th, 2006. After intensive preparations and rehearsals the final client presentation for Hertha BSC went „liveonstage“ on July 26th, 2006. Our Guests from Hertha BSC were Ingo Schiller (Managing Director) Thomas E. Herrich (Headquarter Director) and Stefanie Gesche (Marketing Manager).
The main goal for the students was not only to develop conceptual ideas on how to increase ticket sales and to win new Hertha BSC fans for the new season 2006/2007 but also to present their concepts „liveonstage“ in front of the clients.
Students with the major “Sports & Event Management“ as well as „Public Relations & Comunnications Management“ co-produced with their coach Oliver Stollorcz (Marketing & Communications Director) a new campaign with the slogan “Icke bin Hertha” (Berlin slang for “I’m Hertha”). This presentation contains an analyze of the current situation, market and target group definition, a proposal for the strategy as well as the creative implementation of the campaign ideas with corresponding measures.
Highlights of the presentation were the five motifs of the billboard campaign as well as the produced TV commercial.
After the presentation Hertha BSC Managing Director Mr. Schiller gave the students a very positive feedback and said spontaneously, that the TV commercial could be broadcasted “par for par” at the first home match of Hertha BSC at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
Also Headquarter Manager Mr. Herrich was full of compliments for the results of the students works. At the end of the feedback both gentlemen and Mrs. Gesche invited the students and guests of the pixelapostel acacemy to individual small talks accompanied by refreshments.
We wish to thank Hertha BSC for this very exciting „liveonstage“ project and looking forward to the next assignment.
